Nor Cal Rural Therapy is seeking associate therapists interested in providing identity affirming trauma therapy and/or relational therapy, for queer, trans, non-binary, and neurodivergent Californians. 

Nor Cal Rural Therapy is the right fit for you if you:

  • Are interested in working in a private practice setting and learning how to run a business.

  • Have relevant lived experience as a part of some of the cultures and communities we serve or are an active and informed ally of queer, trans, non-binary, and neurodivergent communities. 

  • At Nor Cal Rural therapy, we provide trauma-focused and neurodivergence-informed therapy (and supervision) using a collaborative lens informed by:

    • EMDR (including Flash Technique)

    • Parts Work (IFS-informed, Structural Dissociation Theory) 

    • Somatic Therapies

    • Mindfulness

    • Expressive Arts Therapy

  • Our goal is to support associate therapists in developing their skills with over-sight and support so that once licensed you can take your clients with you. Through clinical supervision and mentoring, you’ll develop skills for:

    • Managing your own private practice

    • Teamwork

    • Self-discovery

    • Clinical growth

  • We want to help you build a sustainable practice.

    • Associate therapists are expected to schedule a minimum 5-10 client hours per week. Scheduling is flexible and determined by you. 

    • Supervision support will be given to teach you how to find referrals and attract clients, negotiate fees on a sliding scale, and maintain sustainable professional boundaries around scheduling and fees. 

    • This is a W-2 position with retirement benefit options available. Nor Cal Rural Therapy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. 

    • Associate positions average $75 per clinical hour + paid admin time at $20 per hour, 401k plan offered after probation period has concluded.

    • Assess and treat a full range of mental health issues in adults in a private practice, outpatient, telehealth setting.

    • Provide services within the highest standard of professional ethics and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and ability diversity. Must be LGBTQIA affirming, neurodivergence-affirming, practice through the lens of Anti-Racism, and receptive to training and consultation in these areas.

    • Routine completion of required clinical documentation, collecting payment, administrative documentation, and scheduling clients.

    • Regular weekly participation in supervision/consultation.

    • Master’s or degree

    • Registered Associate Clinician in the state of California

    • 1+ years of direct client care preferred 

    • Adherence to standards of service operations, documentation, and confidentiality at all times

    • Have excellent interpersonal skills and organizational/time management skills

    • Preference will be given to applicants with lived experience in some of the communities we serve or informed and active allyship of marginalized communitiesItem description
