Collin Webb
Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
AMFT 159884
Collin Webb is a trauma-focused associate therapist for clients who need support around stress, trauma, open relationships, polyamory, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), kink, depression, anxiety, and finding meaningful ways to live. They work to create a space where everyone is accepted including continued learning in cultural humility, neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+, and many other groups. They ensure clients understand and consent to the therapeutic modalities used through continued conversations and check-ins.
Collin has been in ENM relationships for over a decade. He is happy to do relational counseling with monogamous couples, non-monogamous couples, or polycules alike.
Collin is familiar with many kinds of mindfulness practice including Vipassana, self-compassion, non-dual/direct path like Mahamudra and integrates them into his work. They focus on client-centered therapy (MI), EMDR trauma therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-i). He is also learning internal family systems and further forms of relationship counseling.
Collin offers private pay therapy with sliding scale options available. Full fees for individuals are $150 for 50 to 60-minute sessions and $180 for 50 to 60-minute relational sessions (including family and couples). You can learn more about our sliding scale and out-of-network insurance reimbursement here.
Collin is supervised by Miles Ruttinger, LMFT #133402 and R. BT Craig, LPCC #4505
Types of Therapy
-
Client Centered
Collin provides a safe space where you are understood and can explore issues in your life freely. This is the foundation of the rest of his practice.
Therapy is also internal work, so it is only effective when the client is ready and interested in doing any specific work.
-
Trauma
One of his primary focuses is on trauma. Many of our issues stem from small or large traumas including lack of support when we needed it. Working through these can help us live more fully in the present with less restrictions and less emotional pain. Trauma can cause or intensify many issues in our lives and so is often one of the primary things to work with.
-
Sleep
Collin has had insomnia on and off for years and has learned how to eliminate it in himself and others through various therapeutic and science based practices. He has also given a workshop on sleep with a colleague of his. Sleep is one of the most important factors for our mental well being. Learning to sleep easily and sleep completely through the night can increase one’s quality of life greatly.
-
Relational
He has experience working with relational and family clients through transitions, with attachment issues, improving communication, and creating healthy relationships that fulfill everyone.
He has been in Polyamorous/ENM relationships for over a decade and works with monogamous and non-monogamous clients who want to explore sexuality, gender experience, kink, and ENM.
He works with those who are having difficulties dating in the modern world and for those who desire but are uncomfortable or inexperienced with intimacy, he has also taken trainings in working with Sexual Surrogates in the triadic model.
-
Mindfulness/Spirituality
Collin has been practicing mindfulness and personal inquiry practices for over 20 years. He is happy to use secular, Buddhist, or spiritual language to explore the realities of our experienced lives and how we can practice in a way that integrates that awareness into everyday life. He is familiar with Vipassana, mindful self-compassion, Mahamudra, and Dzogchen. He has been changing the kinds of meditations he does and adjusts them to work with his clients. An example of a meditation he has led can be found here.
One way this shows up is with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), where clients learn to accept reality as it is — including the parts of them that want to change things and take effective action regarding what they care about most.
-
Rationalist/Bayesian
Another niche Collin fills is that he works with those who are interested in truth and interested in working with someone who is aware that language is just a pointer to reality and those pointers are never perfect. He strives for accuracy and clarity while working in many different domains. For example, spirituality is mentioned in places here: by the word, he simply means exploring the inner life and using insights brought to us by many traditions that are often called spiritual: Buddhism, for example, which has also brought us many effective and thoroughly validated therapeutic modalities.
